• Body Liposuction
Liposuction is a procedure to permanently remove localized areas of fat to achieve more attractive body shape.

    Why body liposuction?
Are you unhappy with your muffin top? Are your thighs bulging? Even individuals who are at ideal body weight can have unatractive deposits of fat. Liposuction is the one procedure that permanently reduces these bulges with one treatment.

Who is a candidate for body liposuction?

Any adult or young adult who has reached their full growth and wants to reduce localized area(s) of fat with one treatment.

Surgical candidates must be in good overall health. Those with any health issues should obtain clearance from their medical doctor.

As with any cosmetic plastic surgery, realistic expectations are important. Patients need to fully understand what the procedure can and cannot achieve. You should have all your questions answered before the surgery. Just as importantly, you should listen carefully and completely to your surgeon’s answers and explanations.

Is liposuction the only way to improve body contour?

No. Individuals with loose or sagging skin usually need procedures such as abdominoplasty to improve body contours.

Today there are many noninvasive devices that use ultrasound, radiofrequency, laser and freezing to destroy fat cells. These treatments have all been shown to have some limited result but require multiple treatments. These methods also risks damaging skin.

There are also invasive devices using ultrasound and laser that can be used alone or in combination with liposuction. But there is no controlled study that proves these devices produce a better result than liposuction alone. They destroy fat cells by either pulverizing them using ultrasound or cooking with a laser beam. Unless a very small volume of fat is treated, conventional liposuction still has to be used to remove the destroyed fat cells. Using these devices changes liposuction from a procedure with virtually no risks to one with very real risks of complications such as scarring and seromas.

    How is liposuction performed?
Tumescent micro cannula liposuction can be performed using only local anesthesia or sedation.describe

How do I recover following liposuction?
Patients wear a compression garment for 24 to 48 hrs. After 48 hours patients may remove the garment and shower. Then begin wearing a soft compression garment and resume normal light activities. Most patients begin to gradually resume exercise in about a week.
